After waiting at least 5 years, eligible Lawful Permanent Residents are now preparing for this test and developing their English skills in our latest program, Citizenship Classes.  These classes are part of a larger initiative, The Naturalization Assistance Project, funded by a grant from theToledo Community Foundation.

Because you, our donors, have stood with us as we have developed as an organization, we can now serve alongside partner organizations, Adelante and Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, helping people through the process of becoming United States citizens.

Newly naturalized citizens are able to fully participate in our unique democracy.  They are eager first-time voters and invested in the success of their communities.  Naturalized immigrants are likely to see a boost in their family incomes. They are also twice as likely to be homeowners as non-citizens. This revenue flows into local, state, and federal revenue through various taxes (sales, property, and income.) Not only do they reap the benefits of citizenship, we all do!citizenship
