For the winter semester, the American Language Institute received an especially large number of international students enrolled in their English program. 86 international students applied to receive an American Conversation Partner. Despite the huge number of international students and the short time we had to recruit for Americans, we were able to pair every single international student with an American friend.
Every semester we ask the same question: “How are we going to find enough volunteers to participate in the Conversation Partners program?” And to be honest, for this semester, we don’t know how it happened. But the important thing is that now we have 86 international students intentionally meeting with their American conversation partner and not one international student had to hear the words, “We couldn’t find an American to meet with you.” Praise God for the way that He provides us with our most important asset: PEOPLE.
